48 Hours In Terengganu

I'm back! Wanted to update this blog but didn't have time. Too busy with other things such as holiday, house chores, reunion things and class T-Shirt project (which actually been stop for a while) and scholarships applications. Since January up to today, many things happen. Started off with discussing the programme for reunion (with my three creative girls), grandpa being hospitalized again and doctor had amputated four of his fingers on the right leg, my neighbour passed away on 30th January after battling cancer for about 5 years, holiday in Terengganu on Chinese New Year with dad's best friend and lastly mum was hospitalized due to minor slip disc.

The journey to Terengganu took 9 hours! Ughh, imagine how bored I was in the car. The road was bad with no highways and R&R. Wihtout the R&R during the journey was not a good thing since I need to go to the washroom almost every hour. It was different when I traveled down to south. R&R is available every 30 minutes or maybe an hour. The sea view somehow gave me a great feeling. Luckily, there was no rain. We arrived in Kuala Terengganu at 4 pm and straight away headed to Seberang Takir (for the best Keropok Lekor). Unfortunately, the Keropok Lekor has finished. Duuhhh! Dad and his friend decided to check - in to hotel. From Seberang Takir to our hotel, it took 30 minutes. And finally, we arrived at Merang Suria Resort, Merang, Setiu, Kuala Terengganu. Our hotel located at the beach side but ohhh no, we weren't allowed to go to the beach. Why? Because the beach wasn't like the normal beach which you can still play at the "gigi air". This one you walk at the beach side and out of nowhere you'll find yourself drown in the water. After taking bath, went for dinner and off to dreamland.

The next day, we went to Noor Arfa Craft Centre in Kuala Ibai. The centre was much smaller 11 years ago. I still remember, the centre was only as big as three shop houses. Now, it has renovated bigger and has more facilities around. See how things change with time! The Wife of Raja Muda Perlis and her family was there too when we arrived. After done with shopping, we headed to Taman Tamadun Islam and Masjid Kristal. Kuala Terengganu wasn't like any other states which has many tourist attraction sites to be visited. The only thing they have are Masjid Kristal, Masjid Terapung Kuala Ibai or Masjid Tuanku Tengah Sultanah Zahirah and Taman Tamadun Islam. Others are all islands such as Redang Island and Perhentian Island. Visiting Taman Tamadun Islam gave me a very pleasant experience. It has Islamic monuments from all around the world such as Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, Turkey, Mecca, Palestine and etc. Having the chance to visit the monuments gave me a feeling as if I'm visiting the actual monuments. Masjid Kristal is smaller than what I've ever thought and seen in the pictures or on TV.

The final day, Dad woke up at 6.30am, performed Subuh prayer and off to Seberang Takir to buy Keropok Lekor. After 3 hours of waiting, he finally got all the keropok. The four of us got ourselves ready to check out and go to Pasar Payang before headed back home. Pasar Payang is a very chaotic market with the local people selling crafts, batik and other things. Personally, I prefer to shop at Pasar Baru, Bandung as it's cleaner and cooler. Around 3 pm, we headed back home and arrive in KL at 1.30 am due to heavy traffic at Genting. Nahhh, here's the photos :)
